Welcome

pictureWelcome to La Sierra High School! My name is Craig Shiflett, and I am proud to have been recently appointed principal. La Sierra is a four-year comprehensive high school, founded in 1969, with a current enrollment of about 3200 students. La Sierra welcomes parental and community involvement on campus. Parents are involved in the School Site Council, English Learners Advisory Committee, and the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), all of which meet regularly throughout the school year. These committees play a vital role in the everyday functions and long-term plans for the school. Our school has a reputation for rigorous academics and an extensive co-curricular program that is valued by the community. The staff takes great pride in maintaining a comprehensive program that builds character and values responsibility, respect, and honesty.

On a more personal note, I also worked here as a science and physical education teacher. In many ways I feel that La Sierra is a second home, and it is my goal to ensure that all La Sierra students feel a similar sense of well-being, pride, and ownership in our school. We are all about developing the whole child, helping students to develop academically, personally, and culturally. If there is something you'd like to discuss with me, please call the school at (951) 358-1725 and ask to speak with me.
