WELCOME STUDENTS and PARENTS
Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to La Sierra High School! We are proud of this school and its
outstanding educational program. La Sierra was founded in 1969 and
is a four year comprehensive high school. For the 2012-13 school
year, La Sierra is projected to have an enrollment of approximately
3000 students. The staff takes great pride in continually refining
and making improvements in a comprehensive program which offers strong
academics, athletics, builds character, values responsibility, respect
and honesty. La Sierra High School values and takes tremendous pride
in its role as a strong community partner in the community of Riverside
and the Alvord Unified School District.
At La Sierra our shared goal is to provide the opportunity for all
students to receive an exemplary education. We strongly believe that
all students can learn, and that the skills and concepts students need
to go to college and succeed in life are accessible for all students.
Our students will have educational opportunities that prepare them
to be productive citizens and ready them for future educational opportunities
and career paths. We ask for your support and cooperation meeting and
exceeding these goals for our students!
For students and parents, there are many opportunities to be engaged
and involved with school beyond the classroom expectations. For our
students, in addition to many fine classes we have numerous other offerings
such as clubs, ASB, AVID, athletics, Renaissance, band, and cheer.
For parents, organizations such as School Site Council, Parent Teacher
Organization, English Learners Advisory Council, and Booster Clubs
meet regularly through the school year.
Parent communication with LSHS is strongly encouraged. If you have
a general question, please call the school at (951) 358-1725. If you
have a question for a specific teacher, you may leave a message for
the teacher through the office or via the teacher’s voicemail.
The staff at La Sierra High School is here to provide the best education possible! We are excited to be working together to ensure our successes as individuals, groups, and as an educational organization and integral part of this community! Go Eagles!
Sincerely,
William Mynster
Principal
